VMWare Support Statement:

Criston confirms that we will support customers running Criston Precision on supported Operating Systems in a VMware virtual machine environment.

Criston will provide unqualified support for Criston Precision running in a VMware virtual environment in an identical manner as with Criston Precision running on any other major x86 based systems without initially requiring reproduction of issues on native hardware. Should Criston suspect that the virtualization layer is the root cause of an incident; the customer will be required to contact the appropriate VMware support provider to resolve the VMware issue.

While Criston products are expected to function properly in a VMware virtual environment, there may be performance implications which can invalidate Criston typical sizing and recommendations.

IBM

IBM

IBM validated Criston Precision after the solution adopted self-managing autonomic technologies from IBM’s Autonomic Computing Toolkit and integrated with the Tivoli Enterprise Console (TEC). Criston incorporates support for IBM’s Common Base Event format and Autonomic Management Engine in its solutions. Criston Precision is able to export its own logs, and the Microsoft® Windows® NT events of all its controlled PCs, in plain Common Base Events format. In addition, Criston Precision v5.1 smoothly integrates with TEC through relevant Events Management APIs.

Precision integrates with TEC by providing an adapter and sending events to TEC, where they can be centrally managed by a TEC correlation engine. This integration provides IT administrators with a single-point of entry and a common view for application events, which helps relieve the burden of supporting multiple event reporting applications. In addition, Precision helps automate event processing and restores normal function to the various components of the integrated application with no other intervention required.
